Golden Bean North America 2018

Golden Bean North America 2018

September 25, 2018

We brought back 6 new medals from this year's Golden Bean North America Coffee Roaster's Competition.

Since our first Good Food Award in 2014, competitions have been an opportunity for us to receive input by other industry professionals. Roast House has competed in the Golden Bean competition ever since it came to North America. The competition originated in Australia 10 years ago by a Sean & Kristine Edwards. Since then it crosses two continents, Australia and North America covering 100+ roasters per competition all competing in 10 specified categories.

Each year, we compete with what is already on our offering list. Our approach is simple: to compete with what we serve on a daily basis. At times, competitions are a way to showcase exclusive, high-end offerings. However, we want the award winning coffees to be the kind of coffees in service all the time. We do this by taking the feedback from judges to elevate our coffee selections. That means that all year round you have access to our award winning coffees.
This year, we took medals with all 6 coffees we submitted! A big improvement from years prior. Because of the support and feedback from our community, it has pushed our palates to develop, progress and find tastier coffees for you. Each year we work to build great relationships with our sourcing partners who find these beautiful coffees for us to roast and serve. Competing has continually challenged us to improve and bring the most delicious organic coffees. Thank you for your support & to Golden Bean for keeping us sharp!
