Why we chose each animal

We're passionate about serving organic coffee while preserving the planet that cultivates our beloved beans. That's why we selected indigenous animals like sloths, otters, ocelots, toucans, and the Ethiopian wolf as our Roast House Homies, symbolizing our commitment to the environment and biodiversity.

Let's take a closer look at why each of these remarkable creatures holds a special place in our hearts.

Sloths: These gentle creatures are the embodiment of slow living, reminding us to savor every moment and appreciate the journey, while being their own diverse ecosystem.

Otters: Playful and social, otters teach us the importance of community and connection. They play a special role in the health of waterways and by buying organic coffee, there are fewer washouts of nasty ass chemicals into the waters that otters swim in.

Ocelots: With their elusive beauty and grace, ocelots function as a keystone species essential to the health of the ecosystem through hunting. One of the primary risks of their endangerment is deforestation, which is why we purchase from producers prioritizing preserving shade-grown lands.
Toucans: Vibrant and full of life, toucans represent the rich biodiversity of the rainforests where our coffee beans are grown. We're committed to preserving these precious ecosystems and supporting the communities that call them home.
Ethiopian Wolves: As one of the rarest canids in the world, Ethiopian wolves embody the spirit of resilience and adaptation. Just like our founder, Deb, we honor their tenacity and pledge to support conservation efforts in their native habitats.
By featuring these animals, beyond being amazing creatures, we hope they raise awareness about the importance of biodiversity conservation and inspire you to join us in making a positive impact on our planet while drinking damn good coffee!

Together, let's brew a better world, one cup of coffee at a time.
