Ethiopia Worka Decaf, Swiss Water Process
Years ago when we started our Limited Release program, our decaf drinking friends asked for us to show them some love. While our house decaf rocks, limited release offerings like Ethiopia Worka Chelbessa represent bigger, fruiter flavor profiles in decaf format.
Swiss Water Process decaffeinates coffees without the use of nasty ass chemicals, which we are always big fans of around here. Their Small Batch Series matches our Limited Release program by selecting bonkers coffees to decaffeinate. So if you really want to spoil your decaf drinking friends, buckle up and grab a bag!
This will be our second year serving Worka Chelbessa as a decaf and boy, oh boy, is it worth every penny. From the sweet aromatics when you crack the bag to layered fruits like raspberry, plum, black cherry, pop as the cup cools.
Worka Chelbessa is situated in the Gedeo Zone of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. Heirloom varieties are grown between 1,900-2,200 meters above sea level before being processed using the natural method and sent to Swiss Water to be decaffeinated without the use of nasty chemicals.
