COCOA TOFFEE CARAMEL
The LANDS COUNCIL, a local grassroots, non-profit dedicated to protecting the quality of life in the Inland Northwest. I have supported them for decades, by writing checks, donating goods for auctions and pouring tons of coffee at their events.
One of our most important tenets is to work and support community non-profits. So when I began this little company the first thing I did was approach the LC with the idea of using coffee as a fund raising option and that 'their' coffee should sport their label. Over the past 2.75 years of operation we continued to support them with coffee, but without the most important piece - their very own label.
Like the Lands Council, Roast House was started on a shoestring and completely dependent on local grassroots efforts of friends & community to drive awareness and support of our sustainable coffee program. We simply, like them, didn't have the budget for a graphic artist to create a label.
That was until mild mannered Bill Bloom, (previously with OutThere Magazine) decided to join our itty bitty team and became our 'does everything, including graphics, delivery, blending, bagging, pour samples at events' guy.
He and Amanda Swan, Lands Council, got together and faster than you can explain my personality - they created this coffee label (tee shirts to follow).
Coffee has been used, within our community, as a fund raising tool for many years and is far more successful than selling candy, wrapping paper, magazines and so on...
Several local and Idaho roasters are also actively partnering with other non-profits with a similar program.
We want to help maximize the Land Councils fund raising efforts so our team decided to get behind this program by selling every 1 (one) pound bag, not downsized, cute-sized or under-sized, to them at cost, and all proceeds over cost will benefit LC and its programs.
If you like trees, if you like fishing, water or snow skiing, or driving across the beautiful open (undeveloped) Palouse then buy this bag of coffee and support our LOCAL Lands Council.
Toffee Aroma, Caramel Acidity, Cocoa Body with notes of Chocolate and sweet Dried Banana. Most often people associate this coffee with pudding, which at its finest is balanced between sweet and savory. This cup embraces that balance, welcoming aromas of toffee which hide an intriguing undertone of dried banana. The first sip is reminiscent of the brightness of caramel in its gentle but pronounced sweetness, leading way to a cocoa-like body which amplifies the chocolate found in the finish. An absolute winner among those who enjoy balance, throw it on the espresso machine and you will find the tanginess of peaches. This ain’t your momma’s coffee. But she’ll like it, too.
