aeropress

how to use your aeropress:

serving size: 1 great cup
brew ratio: 1 g coffee to 15 g water
brew time: 1 min. 45 sec.
grind: fine


recipe:
14 g finely ground coffee
210 g water

instructions: 
1.
place paper filter in bottom cap and twist-lock the aeropress

2. preheat the aeropress and rinse filter by filling with warm water before beginning

3. measure out 14g of freshly roasted and finely ground coffee. 

4. discard the rinse water and place aeropress, loaded with coffee atop the scale and tare it out

5. fill the aeropress with 210 g water just off boil

6. stir 3x and place plunger atop aeropress (don't plunge yet :)

7. at 1 min, take plunger off and stir 3 more times

8. replace plunger and plunge

viola! a delicious cup of Roast House aeropress the way it was meant to be.

french press

how to use your french press:

serving size: 2-4 fantastic cups
brew ratio: 1 g coffee to 15 g water
brew time: 4 mins.
grind: coarse

recipe:
* 50g coffee
* 750g water

instructions: 
1.
 preheat vessel with warm water while you prepare the coffee

2. measure out 50g of freshly roasted and coarse ground coffee. 

3. discard the rinse water and place french press, loaded with coffee atop the scale and tare it out

4. fill the french press with half of the total water (375 g), just off boil

5. at 1 min., stir 3-4x and add remainder of water (375 g).

6. at 4 min, seat the lid and plunge. 

Serve and toast to delicious cups of Roast House french press the way it was meant to be.

pour over

how to make pour over:

serving size: 1 killer cup
brew ratio: 1g coffee to 17g water
brew time: 3 min. 15 sec. - 3 min. 30 sec.
grind: medium

recipe:
* 23g coffee
* 390g water

instructions: 
1.
 place paper filter inside melitta cone and rinse with warm water to remove any paper taste.

2. measure out 23g of freshly roasted, medium ground coffee.

3. discard the rinse water

4. place the melitta cone loaded with coffee on top of your mug and the scale then tare out the scale

5. using your gooseneck kettle filled with water just off boil, add 50 g of water to ensure all the grounds are wet.

6. at 30 secs. cover the entire bed of coffee, pouring in even circles, adding 110 g water (160 g total).

7. allow water to drain halfway through then add another 110 g water (270 g total)

8. allow water to drain halfway through again then add remaining water (390 g total).

9. all water should be added between 2 min and 2 min. 15 sec. allowing for the entire melitta cup to drain between 3 min. 15 sec. and 3 min. 30 sec.

how to use your chemex

serving size: 2 great cups
brew ratio: 1g coffee to 17g water
brew time: 4 min. 30 sec.
grind: medium-coarse

recipe:
50 g finely ground coffee
850 g water

instructions: 
1.
fold filter and place in chemex with three layers on the spout side of the chemex and one layer on the other side

2. preheat the chemex and rinse filter by filling with warm water before beginning

3. measure out 50g of freshly roasted and medium-coarse ground coffee 

4. discard the rinse water and place chemex, loaded with coffee atop the scale and tare it out

5. using your gooseneck kettle filled with water just off boil, add 150g of water to ensure all the grounds are wet.

6. at 30 secs. cover the entire bed of coffee, pouring directly in the center of the brew bed, adding the remaining 700g of water (850g total).

7. all water should be added between 2 min. 30 sec. and 3 min. allowing for the entire chemex to drain between 4 min. and 4 min. 30 sec.

nicely done. you've just hooked yourself up with a killer batch of Roast House on the Chemex. Enjoy!

how to use your bialetti

serving size: 1 great cup
brew time: 2-3 min.
grind: medium


recipe:
fill filter basket with medium ground coffee (approx. 1/4 cup)
add water to max fill line 

instructions: 
1.
 boil water in teapot before adding to the bottom of your bialetti

2. while water is boiling, measure out and fill filter basket

3. best results yield from freshly roasted and medium ground coffee 

4. fill bottom of bialetti with water just off-boil

5. carefully place filter basket in and tighten top brew chamber (we recommend using oven mitts because the bottom is very hot)

6. place bialetti on stovetop burner and set to medium-high heat

7. wait for the magic to happen

8. once all the liquid has moved into the top brew chamber, usually indicated by a bubbling sound -- you are all set to enjoy

9. if the water takes longer than 3 minutes to move through the coffee and into the top brew chamber, try coarsening up your grind
