Guatemala Fuerza de Mujer
A balanced cup layered with notes of macadamia nuts, sweet tea, and red grape.
Back for a second year thanks to the hard work of Sustainable Harvest to preserve long-standing relationships! While we love bringing on new coffees, our favorite scenario is when we find a producer group that aligns with our values who we can partner with long-term. Fuerza de Mujer (translates to “Strength of Women”) comes from Asproguate, a relatively young organization, having been founded in 2014 by 100 coffee growers in the Acatenango, Coban, and Chimaltenango regions. The members of ASPROGUATE set out with the express purpose of showing that growing coffee without the use of nasty ass chemicals is not only better for the environment, but is more economically sustainable and leads to higher incomes.
Grown in the Acatenango region of Guatemala- Caturra, Catuai, and Bourbon varieties are grown between 1,320-2,100 meters above sea level before they're harvested and processed using the washed method.
