Organic Noir
A full-bodied cup layered with notes of warm maple, molasses, and sandalwood.
Earthy coffees have always been a love or hate relationship. They often have been likened to the "cigar aficionado's coffee" and we tend to agree. So to give all of our cigar tokin' friends a killer coffee to pair with your chooch of choice, we introduce Noir. For those who don't enjoy a quality stick, but love the richness of earthy coffees roasted to bring depth to the cup- you've found your next favorite cup!
This year's offering comes from a producer we've worked with for nearly 5 years from Papua New Guinea thanks to the sourcing work of Cafe Imports. Keto Tapasi Progress Association was founded in 2008 as an association of smallholder coffee growers from 18 communities and villages in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, in the Chuave District. The organization has around 375 members, who cooperate and collaborate despite the vast differences in both culture and language between their heritage groups. The organization has been Fair Trade–certified since 2011 and certified organic since 2014, and has used the premiums it receives to invest in depulpers as well as warehouse space and transportation.
our blending approach
Many moons ago, coffee traders thought it'd be a good idea to take two different origins with vastly different cup profiles and combine them to make a super blend of deliciousness.
To honor the industry tradition, we take our long-term relationships with cooperatives and producers to create our line of house classics. While coffee as a plant changes in quality yearly, we work to ensure the flavor profiles of our blends remain predictable and comforting.
